Dancing, Diversity and Smiles Abound at Hispanic Heritage Night

The fourth annual Hispanic Heritage Night was a success as professional dancers taught students new movements. Attendees also participated in the March of Nations and indulged in tasty Spanish food.

In the warm gymnasium, students giggled as they learned how to dance. Partners held hands as they worked on their rhythm and footwork.

The fourth annual Hispanic Heritage Night was held on Nov. 2. The event was hosted by the students in teacher Richard O’Riley’s College Spanish classes. Valhalla residents of all ages were encouraged to attend the special celebration of Hispanic culture.

Professional dancers led the teenagers, teaching them how to dance. The evening also featured the March of Nations, where students took turns parading through the gymnasium holding different Hispanic countries’ flags in honor of their heritage.
